The great UluruUluru is the second largest monolith in the world. The highest is Mount Augustus in Western Australia, twice as big, but half the magic. In the center of Australia is this lonely giant red 3 km long, 350 meters high and with another 3 km below the surface. Uluru and land in the area are owned by the Anangu Aboriginal and manage all in conjunction with the National Park Service Australia.

If you decide to climb this giant of nature go quite ready because there have been several deaths related to heart attacks because of effort. Before you go get in good shape to have no fear. Over a mile ascent will have the that will take about an hour. Take good shoes and plenty of water. Climbing is prohibited in the heat of the day.

An excellent alternative to climbing is walking. You can take a tour of 10 km around. This road is flat and has a well defined path. Depending on your fitness and your speed can make the trip in about 3-4 hours.
