Tuvalu is an island nation located in the Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and Australia. This is the fourth smallest country in the world. The countries that are bordering Samoa, Kiribati and Fiji Islands. Interestingly, the continuity of the nation may be jeopardized in coming years because their islands are located just 5 meters above sea level. Its residents could be evacuated to New Zealand and Niue in the coming decades.
Tuvalu has the distinction of being the member of the United Nations with fewer people. It is also, after the Vatican, an independent nation with fewer inhabitants. Its total area is only 25 square kilometers and reaches 5,000. It consists of nine islands: Funafuti, Nanumea, Nanumanga, Niutao, Nui, Niulakita, Nukufetau, Nukulaelae and Vaitupu. The capital is Funafuti.
It enjoys a tropical maritime climate and suffers constant storms between December and February. Moderate winds make it pleasant to travel to Tuvalu especially between March and November. Among the vegetation, it is common to meet with many palm trees.
